Most people will have heard the terms “diagnosis” or “surgery” at some point. Indeed, most people are aware of what it means for a condition to be diagnosed or what it means to go into surgery. What you may not be aware of is the kind of diagnostic and surgical equipment that is used in a range of medical applications and today we will be going over a few examples.
Before a condition can be treated, you need to know what it is. A diagnosis comes from looking at the symptoms a person has and then looking for a possible treatment to address them. In terms of the most well-known diagnostic devices, stethoscopes have becoming something of a symbol of medical treatments in general.
While they are most associated with heart issues (checking to see if someone has a regular heartbeat) they can also be used to look at other conditions like pneumonia. Other forms of diagnostic equipment are designed to look at issues with blood pressure, eyes and ears.
Surgery has been a common medical practise for centuries. However, we have come a long way since the days of biting on wooden spoons and cutting legs with saws. In the modern day, a range of cutting, holding and repair tools and equipment are used throughout medical procedures.
