In any type of processing or waste management facility, odor control can become a critical factor for workplace environment safety as well as to meet local regulations and requirements.
There are several different options in odor control systems that are available. A business or company would be well advised to take some time and consider several factors in these environmental control systems to determine which is the optimal system for their needs.
Initial Cost and Effectiveness
Cost and effectiveness really do need to be considered together when choosing odor control systems. Some systems are very costly to purchase, require complex installation and also have extensive ongoing maintenance needs and costs.
While these may be the most costly options, they are not always the most effective. Misting or fogging systems that are lower initial cost can be just as effective and offering a lower initial price.
Installation and Options
Different odor control systems will have various installation requirements. Fogging systems can be easily installed on the ceiling or roof for interior spaces or covered exterior areas. Fogging cannons can also be used in large spaces indoor or out and can be mounted on trailers, carts or mounted on walls for the optimal direction of the fog.
Air scrubbers and other similar types of options are a more complex installation process. They will be configured to the location, which may require additional floor space and equipment. They are also not always appropriate for all areas, including outdoor locations or those with limited ceiling height and air circulation.
Maintenance
The ongoing costs of operation and maintenance needs should always be considered when choosing environmental control systems for odor. With lower cost systems that have limited maintenance needs the long-term cost of operation is extremely low, providing an advantage to any facility or plant.
