You don’t have to be a doctor or nurse to help save the lives of others. Learn about AED CPR with training in NJ. Types of CPR Training in NJ

There are two main types of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, including BLS and ACLS. Basic Life Support (BLS) includes breathing air into the lungs and holding closed the nose or using a mask attached to a bag to squeeze air into the lungs. Then you perform chest compressions to help the heart pump the blood where it needs to go.

The second, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) includes the steps in BLS, but goes further by using electrical shock to restart the pumping of the heart. If the heart does not start pumping, more chest compressions are completed until the AED is charged again.

You may also need to insert a tube into the windpipe and connect it to an oxygen bag that will push air into the lungs. This is usually done is there is damage to the mouth or it cannot be opened correctly.
